Kate MacKay (2019-2020)
Kate is an alumna from the NBCC Business Administration Accounting program. She graduated with honours in the Class of 2018, following a degree in Sociology at UNB. Since then, she has been self-employed in her own independent bookkeeping business, Right Books NB, specializing in bookkeeping and accounting for not-for-profit organizations and registered charities.
Kate is heavily involved in the not-for-profit community service sector. Currently, she is the treasurer for the Fredericton Homeless Shelters Inc. and for the 306 CluBB – a group dedicated to raising funds for the Cst. Robb Costello Memorial Fund. Robb was a much-loved colleague during Kate’s 20-plus career as a dispatcher/911 operator for the Fredericton Police Force. Kate was the Executive Producer and host for the Rogers television TV series “Budget Cuisine”, an outreach program from the teaching kitchen at the Greener Village Community Food Centre (the Fredericton Food Bank). She’s still interested in food security and teaching cooking skills. Her blog “NB Kitchen” (www.nbkitchen.com) is part of a larger teaching project at the Kitchen that will be released later this fall 2019.
