Mr. Harvie is the former Chief Executive Officer (2002-2011) of Co-op Atlantic based in Moncton, N.B.

He has spent his entire career working for Co-operatives beginning as a livestock feed sales representative for Co-op Atlantic in Truro, N.S. From Truro, he moved to Scotsburn, N.S. as the manager of the Farm Services Department for Scotsburn Co-op Services Ltd. In 1998, he and his family took a two-year leave of absence from Scotsburn Co-op to work on an International Development Project with the Canadian Co-operative Association in St. Lucia, West Indies. He then returned to Scotsburn Co-op for several years before returning to Co-op Atlantic as the Manager of the Agriculture Division in 1996 and then Vice President of Food Services, and then C.E.O. in 2002.

Mr. Harvie grew up on a farm in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia and graduated with a BSc in agriculture from McGill University.

He presently resides in Moncton with his wife, Celia.

Mr. Harvie is very interested in post-secondary education and career development and fully supports the work of the New Brunswick Community College, the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick and the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design.
