This businessman made his mark in politics, to which he devoted more than 28 years of his life. Rayburn Doucett sat on his Municipal Council, the Legislative Assembly, and the New Brunswick provincial Cabinet, holding the positions of Minister of Commerce and Technology and Minister of Regional Development Corporation and Chairman of NB Power.

Following his retirement from politics, he sat on a number of boards including the Board of Export Development Canada. Mr. Doucett was Chairman of the Board of the Belledune Port Authority from 2000 to 2004 and rejoined the BPA as President & CEO in 2005.  A position he still holds as he is currently serving his third term.  He is responsible for the overall operation of the Port and its financial success.  Under his direction, the Port of Belledune has completed a significant infrastructure expansion project totaling $67M. Furthermore, another major investment of $13.2M for the construction of a Modular Component Fabrication Facility is also complete and welcomed its first tenant in April 2012.

Mr. Doucett is involved on an ad hoc basis with many development projects in his area. He is a member of the Greater Bathurst Chamber of Commerce and the Charlo Regional Airport Committee. 

And, for three consecutive years, Mr. Doucet has been selected by Atlantic Business Magazine as TOP 50 CEO (2009, 2010, & 2011).
